Job Title: Senior Programs Manager


Title: Senior Programs Manager

Schedule Type: Full-time, exempt

Location: Office located in Anaheim, CA. Requires some travel throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member on CAIR-LA's management team in establishing short- and long-term strategies to meet the civil rights and advocacy needs of the SoCal Muslim community
  • Lead the strategy and manage implementation of CAIR-LA's flagship programs including Know You Rights workshops, Muslim Day at the Capitol, Muslim Gamechangers Network, Muslim Youth Leadership Program, Bridging Communities, and other educational and leadership development initiatives
  • Create new programing to further develop leadership pipelines for advocates and youth with a passion for civil and immigration rights
  • Work with the Policy and Advocacy department to increase synergy between long term programs and advocacy campaigns that would further CAIR-LA's mission and increase participation in CAIR-LA programs
  • Provide strategic guidance to the communications manager when developing campaigns and content to recruit participants for CAIR-LA's programs
  • Strengthen relationships with civil rights and advocacy organizations in order to strategically increase and expand programing efforts throughout Southern California
  • Manage the recruitment and supervision of interns and volunteers
  • Develop relationships with foundations, government entities, partners, and private donors to support proposals for expanding CAIR-LA's programming
  • Oversee program coordination of including: securing the speakers, event bookings, educational programs, interactive workshops, training sessions, and forums
  • Maintain an annual events calendar and events timeline
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 4-year college degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with non-profits working on programs, campaigns and other advocacy efforts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high degree of professionalism
  • Self-directed individual, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing initiatives
  • Experience with event planning, conducting outreach and working with volunteers
  • Familiarity, knowledge and experience working with the American Muslim community
  • Willingness and flexibility to change job requirements as the team grows


  • Evenings, weekends may be required.
